Job summary

Rocky Mountain Youth Corps seeks a Field Technician (AmeriCorps member) in Taos, NM. This position supports conservation crews, assists Crew Supervisors, and develops field skills. Hybrid work model with day and spike schedules, 8–10 hour days, 7:00am starts.

The role offers a stipend of $820 per week and an Education Award upon completion of the 1700-hour term, with related AmeriCorps benefits. Dates run Jan 25–Dec 17, 2027, with statewide project locations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform strenuous physical tasks in field conditions.
• Strong public speaking and training delivery to crews.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; reliable and punctual.
• Certified in USFS Chainsaw B-Faller and Crosscut as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in successful conservation project implementation with crews.
• Plan and participate in field training and teachable moments.
• Model professional behavior and safety culture on field projects.
• Provide in-field support to Crew Supervisors and crew as needed.
• Prepare supplies, equipment, and safety gear for field tasks.
• Support logistics and coordination across project sites.
