Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal/Sr. Principal Configuration Management Engineer to lead CM efforts for the F35 software team. The role focuses on updating procedures, preparing CM artifacts, and mentoring CM colleagues onsite in Redondo Beach, CA.

The candidate will review software contracts, oversee Jira workflows, and ensure GitLab integration across deliveries. Clearance eligibility is required for government work, with a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of CM experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Experience managing, updating, and maintaining software CM documentation.
• Experience authoring workflows for CM procedures in Jira; Git experience required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance (SAP) within business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead update and maintenance of F35 CM documentation and procedures.
• Prepare CM delivery artifacts and support software deliveries.
• Review contracts to determine documentation requirements across lifecycle.
• Author and maintain Jira workflows; advise on GitLab integration; audits readiness.
