Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a high-ownership Composite CNC Programmer/Operator to join our rapidly growing Mechanical Services team. You will own end-to-end manufacturing from CAM programming to setup, operation and final inspection on large-format 5-axis systems.

This is a hands-on, R&D-focused role with no production work, delivering next‑generation defense components. You will work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability, fabricate robust

Qualifications

• 4+ years CAM programming experience (Esprit, hyperMILL).
• 5+ years hands‑on CNC setup and operation.
• Deep understanding of machining complex composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar).
• Strong command of G and M code; high‑speed 5‑axis machining; Fanuc controls.
• Expertise in cutting‑tool selection for abrasive materials and custom work holding.
• Thrives in fast‑paced R&D with minimal supervision; US Person due to export controls.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate large-format 5-axis CNC gantry routers and mills for trimming, drilling, and surfacing advanced composite components.
• Collaborate with design/manufacturing engineers to optimize DFM during prototyping.
• Design and fabricate robust work holding including vacuum fixtures for delicate components.
• Machine master models and direct-to-part molds from foam and pattern materials.
• Troubleshoot machining challenges such as delamination and thermal degradation in composites.
• Perform in-process QC and dimensional verification for high‑quality prototypes.
