Job summary

Applied Composites is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate CNC machines and use existing programming to produce tools and parts to dimensional requirements. The ideal candidate will have several years of CNC operating experience and exposure to CNC programming, with a self-starter mindset under occasional supervision.

Qualifications

• A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
• CNC programming exposure preferred.
• Experience with 5-axis CNC machines and composites materials.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints and traveler requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate 5-axis CNC machines.
• Setup and operate automatic or semi-automatic machines.
• Report malfunctions and perform minor adjustments.
• Run CNC programs to produce tools and parts to dimensional requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to solve problems.
• Gather tooling, fixtures, and materials per traveler requirements.
• Monitor equipment for safe operation and quality parts.
• Read production drawings and identify critical characteristics.
• Perform preventative maintenance and follow standard practices for composites.
