Job summary

Stormentum seeks a Sr. Certification & Regulatory Compliance Engineer to own the certification strategy for its modular power platform.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, and controls teams to embed compliance from design to listing across grid-tied, storage, and EV charging contexts. Applicants should have deep hands-on experience with UL 1741, IEEE 1547, IEC 62109, and related standards, plus proven liaison with NRTLs and safety analysis methods.

Qualifications

• Must have 7+ years of product safety and regulatory compliance experience for grid-tied inverters, energy storage systems, or similar power electronics.
• Experience coordinating with NRTLs, scoping test plans, resolving findings, and managing certification to listing.
• Ability to translate safety and compliance requirements into hardware/firmware specs and test plans.

Responsibilities

• Define the certification roadmap across safety, grid-interconnection, and product standards for the Stormentum platform.
• Own the relationship with NRTLs from scoping through final listing.
• Lead design-for-compliance reviews with hardware and firmware teams to identify gaps early.
• Prepare and maintain technical files, test plans, and compliance documentation.
• Support DFMEA, fault tree analysis, and safety hazard analyses with engineering.
• Track evolving grid codes and represent Stormentum in standards activities as needed.
• Support field deployment and compliance troubleshooting as products roll out.
