Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF NORTHEAST IOWA, INC. in Waterloo, Iowa seeks a Lead Community Trainer-House 12 responsible for training, supervising, advising and monitoring participants per IPP/IEP, communicating with participants and coordinating services for them as needed.

This role focuses on guiding participants to achieve goals, maintaining accurate records, and upholding Goodwill’s values while providing crisis intervention as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year related experience preferred.
• CPR/First Aid and Medication Management certification within 6 months of starting employment.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to instruct persons with disabilities.
• Computer proficiency.
• Reliable cellphone and transportation.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary contact for program participants' parents/guardians, county workers, and medical appointments.
• Monitors schedules, cleanliness, and time off for participants.
• Drives participants to appointments, events, stores, and activities.
• Maintains and reviews documentation and submits to Program Manager promptly.
• Assists with training new team members at the site.
• Supervises completion of Individual Program Plans and required documentation.
• Maintains documentation per guidelines and electronic systems, prioritizing tasks.
• Submits documentation for participants in a timely manner.
• Builds rapport with participants through effective communication.
