Job summary

UCAN is seeking a Lead Community Support Specialist for the Transitional Living Program (TLP) in Chicago. You will supervise on-site Community Support Specialists, schedule shifts, and guide staff in delivering direct services to teens and teen parents living in a transitional setting.

The role requires experience supervising youth programs, strong teamwork, and the ability to manage client safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• BSW/BS/BA or AS degree preferred with at least 2 years experience working with children and adolescents.
• GED or HS Diploma required with 5+ years’ experience working with children and adolescents.
• Previous supervisory/scheduling experience required.
• Previous experience working with adolescents in a residential, group home or similar setting is highly desired.
• CPR/First Aid certified or becomes so within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule weekly site staff and supervise on-site team.
• Provide training, guidance, and supervision to CSS staff.
• Conduct daily observation of clients’ behaviors and progress.
• Assist clients with daily living, time management, and parenting skills.
• Maintain program rules compliance and report infractions to treatment team.
• Enter and maintain case notes and client records in UCAN systems.
• Coordinate with TLP team and houseparents to plan services.
