Job summary

City of Memphis is seeking a Recreation Specialist to lead class instruction and a range of recreational activities across city facilities. You will coordinate rental functions, provide clerical and custodial support, and supervise staff and participants.

When management is away, you will direct facility operations and ensure safety and adherence to guidelines. Applicants must hold a High School diploma or GED, have recreation education experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Clear verbal and written communication required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive to city locations.
• Experience in recreation education or training is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead class instruction and various recreational activities, including sports.
• Coordinate rental facility functions and provide clerical/custodial support as needed.
• Supervise staff and participants; direct facility operations in the absence of management.
• Transport participants to recreational activities by driving to locations throughout the City.
