Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department seeks a Recreation Specialist to plan, organize, and deliver diverse community programs including after-school, summer camps, and events at Tom Sykes Recreation Center. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and solid time management to serve youth, adults, and seniors.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and communication skills; exceptional time management.
• Experience providing youth recreation services preferred.
• Ability to develop and deliver lesson plans and programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and evaluate programs in a recreation center or park facility.
• Provide customer service and handle funds via telephone, email, web, and in person.
• Ensure safety of participants and administer first aid when necessary.
• Enforce rules and take registrations for programs and rentals.
• Supervise children in after-school, summer, or other programs.
