Job summary

BuildAbility is seeking a Lead Community Guide to support adults with developmental disabilities in our 100% community-based program. You will help manage day-to-day operations, train staff, and implement individualized ISP goals in collaboration with leadership.

You will develop curricula, coordinate schedules, and mentor team members while guiding participants to navigate the community and use transportation safely.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Experience with administrative tasks and staff coaching in the IDD field preferred.
• Must pass DOJ Live Scan background clearance.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist program leadership in managing the day-to-day operations of the Quest program.
• Coordinate staff and participant schedules, ensuring staff are equipped with effective support strategies and instructional guidance to meet participant needs.
• Lead the development of curriculum and activity planning, ensuring alignment with individualized goals.
• Support participants in developing and learning the skills necessary to navigate and participate in the community successfully.
• Navigate public transportation with participants to explore the community while teaching travel safety and awareness.
