Job summary

Prevail Recruiting is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager in Phoenix, AZ for Ground-Up and Tenant Improvement projects. This role oversees projects from preconstruction through closeout, managing budgets, schedules, and safety with a focus on local Phoenix-area TI work.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of PM experience with a Commercial General Contractor, strong leadership, and excellent client coordination skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-charge PM experience with a Commercial General Contractor
• Significant experience managing TI, renovation, build-out, or interior construction projects
• Experience taking projects from preconstruction through final turnover
• Strong understanding of means, methods, scheduling, estimating, buyout, and cost control
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong owner, architect, subcontractor, and client-facing communication skills
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
• Knowledge of construction administration, safety standards, and local building requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple commercial Ground-up/Tenant Improvement and renovation projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality across all phases of construction
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, property management teams, and internal operations
• Develop and maintain project schedules; identify critical-path items and proactively mitigate risk
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and project scopes
• Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, schedule, and safety
• Manage project budgets, cost reporting, change orders, forecasting, and financial controls
• Lead subcontractor buyout, scope review, procurement, and trade coordination
• Manage accelerated schedules and changing requirements common to commercial TI projects
• Champion jobsite safety and ensure OSHA and company compliance
• Mentor and support project teams
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
• Oversee punch lists, closeout, turnover, and final client satisfaction
• Support estimating and preconstruction efforts as needed
