Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building systems, seeks a Commercial Installer to work onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program Integrated Security fire and security systems.

Responsibilities include installing devices, reading blueprints, following wiring diagrams, testing systems, coordinating with authorities, and mentoring junior installers. Requires high school diploma/GED and 6+ years electrical experience. Competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install devices; dismantle and reconstruct equipment per plan.
• Work safely to prevent injuries and damage; clean up debris.
• Contact customers before installation to verify schedule.
• Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Follow schematics and wiring diagrams for connections.
• Test system operation and report to control center.
• Read building and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinate installations with police/fire; manage notifications.
• May lead installer teams on large projects.
• Coach and mentor junior installers.
