Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work on-site with commercial customers, setting up and programming Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role also involves dismantling and reconstructing equipment when needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, plus preferred technical training; strong blueprints reading and tool use are required, along with customer service skills. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Some technical school training is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required.
• Work safely to avoid injuries and clean up installation debris.
• Contact customers before installation to verify schedule.
• Prepare estimates as directed by supervisor.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
• Test system operation and report to the receiving center.
• Read building/electrical/sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and notify emergency calls.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
