Job summary

gpac is seeking an Experienced Plumbing Estimator for commercial construction projects. The role focuses on detailed takeoffs, pricing, subcontractor quotes, and transitioning estimates to project management. Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of commercial experience in plumbing or heating estimation or completion of an approved apprenticeship with at least 3 years as a Journeyman.
• Proven 10 years of prior estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints with strong knowledge of plumbing and piping installations.
• Strong math and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with estimating software (Estimation and/or Quicken experience preferred).
• Excellent communication skills for scope reviews and vendor negotiations.
• Valid Driver's License.
• High School Diploma or GED; Journeyman Plumber or HVAC license (or equivalent experience) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed job takeoffs and pricing for plumbing and mechanical projects.
• Obtain and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with the VP of Estimating to develop and maintain estimating databases and spreadsheets.
• Ensure a smooth transition of projects from estimation to project management.
• Lead and finalize job estimates, including writing clear and professional scope letters.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, clients, and coworkers.
