Canto is hiring its first in-house Commercial Counsel to build and scale a modern legal function in a scaling SaaS environment. The role focuses on strategic commercial contracting and operational excellence, partnering with Sales, Finance, and executives.

You will own end-to-end contracting operations, implement CLM templates, negotiation playbooks, and automated workflows, while managing regulatory compliance across geographies.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of legal experience in SaaS or technology.
• Strong experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, DPAs, NDAs).
• Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and related privacy frameworks.
• Ability to build processes and legal infrastructure in a scaling SaaS environment.
• Experience partnering with Sales and GTM teams in a fast-moving setting.
• Hands-on experience with CLM systems and AI-enabled legal tools.

Responsabilités

• Lead end-to-end contracting for customer and vendor agreements.
• Scale contracting operations with a modern, AI-enabled CLM approach.
• Manage outside counsel relationships and reduce escalation frequency.
• Partner with Security, Product, and Exec leadership on privacy, data governance, and AI-related requirements.
