Canto is hiring its first in-house legal leader to build and scale a modern commercial contracting function for a scaling SaaS platform. This role focuses on commercial contracting as a growth driver, owning end-to-end contracting operations within six months, and partnering with Sales, Finance, and the executive team.

You will implement CLM, templates, playbooks, and AI-enabled review tools, enable Sales to negotiate routine terms, and manage outside counsel relationships across US and Europe

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of legal experience in SaaS or technology.
• Strong experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, DPAs, NDAs).
• Working knowledge of data privacy frameworks including GDPR, CCPA, and related regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently, build processes from scratch, and scale a legal function.
• Experience partnering with Sales and go-to-market teams in a high-velocity environment.
• Hands-on experience with CLM systems and AI-enabled legal review or drafting tools.

Responsabilités

• Drive Commercial Contracting & Sales Enablement: Negotiate and execute SaaS agreements (MSAs, DPAs, NDAs).
• Own Contracting Operations: Implement CLM, templates, and playbooks to scale processes.
• Manage Privacy & Governance: Lead privacy efforts, GDPR/CCPA alignment, and data protection requirements.
• Lead the Legal Function: Partner with Sales, Finance, and executives; manage outside counsel.
