Job summary

gpac is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for commercial and institutional projects in the NYC Metro Area. You will coordinate subcontractors, maintain schedules, review plans and specifications, and ensure safety and quality standards are met across multiple trades.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of superintendent experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and familiarity with New Jersey public projects over $15M.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction Superintendent experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and scheduling.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA/safety certifications preferred.
• Experience with Public Projects in New Jersey of over 15 M.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily onsite construction activities.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Maintain project schedules and sequencing.
• Review plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Monitor quality, safety, and jobsite progress.
• Coordinate inspections and material deliveries.
• Identify and resolve field issues and conflicts.
• Communicate project updates with the Project Manager.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings.
• Assist with punch list, closeout, and project turnover.
