Job summary

Andersen James Group in New York, NY seeks an experienced Commercial Interiors Superintendent to lead field operations on interior construction projects across NYC and Long Island.

You will own day-to-day site operations for commercial interiors, office build-outs, retail, hospitality, and corporate workplace projects, coordinate trades, review drawings, ensure safety and quality, and drive projects to on-time turnover. OSHA 30 preferred; Procore/Bluebeam/Autodesk Build experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience
• Strong background in commercial interior build-outs and renovations
• Experience with office, retail, hospitality, healthcare, or high-end interior projects
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
• Ability to read architectural, structural, MEP, and shop drawings
• Knowledge of NYC construction logistics, safety, and inspection requirements
• OSHA 30 preferred
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build, or similar software preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain project schedules and ensure key milestones are achieved.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and identify constructability issues.
• Coordinate trades including drywall, ceilings, millwork, flooring, MEP, fire protection, and specialty finishes.
• Lead site meetings and communicate progress with PMs, clients, architects, and building management.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, cleanliness, and workmanship.
• Coordinate inspections, punch lists, closeout, and turnover.
• Proactively resolve field issues and schedule risks.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong experience delivering commercial interiors, office build-outs, retail, hospitality, and/or corporate workplace projects and be comfortable taking full ownership of day-to-day site operations.
