Job summary

KeyBank is seeking a Commercial Analysts Team Lead for the Buffalo, NY area to drive client service excellence and strong risk practices. This role leads a team of Commercial Analysts, coaching for technical proficiency and career growth while aligning resources with market objectives.

You will partner with Sales, Credit, Underwriting, and other stakeholders to optimize processes, oversee performance, and ensure consistent execution of risk and client service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial middle-market banking experience (credit structuring, analysis, risk assessment).
• Minimum 3 years of leadership, supervisory, coaching, or team management experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, credit risk assessment, and underwriting principles.
• Experience with complex commercial credit structures and transactions.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of commercial loan and deposit documentation.
• Ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities.
• Familiarity with nCino and related banking systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Analysts to foster growth and proficiency.
• Hold regular one-on-one meetings to provide performance feedback and development support.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and train analysts for strong integration and growth.
• Identify high-potential talent and support succession planning through mentoring.
• Provide direction and accountability for performance, workload, and client support.
• Collaborate with Sales, Credit, Underwriting and stakeholders to align resources.
• Manage a limited portfolio of commercial banking relationships and credit activities.
• Ensure adherence to credit, underwriting, risk, and operational procedures.
