The City of O'Fallon, IL is seeking a Lead / Working Supervisor of Code Enforcement to oversee day-to-day operations, review case files, and enforce city codes. You will supervise Code Enforcement Officers, assign complaints, and ensure compliance with established standards.

You will train staff, analyze data, prepare reports, and coordinate with Planning, Public Works, Fire, Legal, and other departments. Salary range starts at $70,000–$80,000; regular full-time benefi ts apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least four years of progressively responsible related work experience, including at least two years in code enforcement, property maintenance, or a closely related field.
• Experience as a police officer or investigator preferred.
• Prior lead worker, field training officer, or supervisory experience preferred.
• ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification, or equivalent, preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead and supervise Code Enforcement Officers, including scheduling and assignment of cases.
• Review reports, notices, photographs, and documentation for legal sufficiency prior to action.
• Train and mentor officers on codes, documentation, and courtroom procedures.
• Establish consistent enforcement practices and resolve inconsistencies.
• Monitor caseloads, reallocate work to meet timeframes, and track aging of cases.
• Provide input to the Director of Public Safety on performance, hiring, and training needs.
• Serve as the primary contact for escalated complaints and inquiries from residents and officials.
