Job summary

City of O'Fallon is seeking a Lead / Working Supervisor in Public Safety to oversee the code enforcement team and administer Crime Free Housing programs. The position reports to the Director of Public Safety, offers a starting salary range of $70,000–$80,000 and regular full-time hours in a public sector environment.

Qualifications

• Leads and supervises Code Enforcement Officers daily.
• Reviews case files for completeness and legal sufficiency.
• Develops program materials and provides training on codes and procedures.
• Collects, analyzes data and prepares reports for management.
• Coordinates enforcement actions with City departments and outside agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of Code Enforcement Officers, including scheduling and workload distribution.
• Review reports, notices, photographs, and supporting documentation for enforcement readiness.
• Train and mentor officers on codes, ordinances, and evidence handling.
• Coordinate abatement and enforcement actions with Legal and other departments.
• Prepare cases for adjudication and testify at hearings when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of codes and case law to support enforcement decisions.
