Job summary

City of O’Fallon, IL seeks an experienced Administrator to assist the City Administrator in daily operations and to focus on advancing economic vitality for the City. This exempt position supervises the Community Development Department and collaborates with Planning Commission and City Council on planning, zoning, building, and code enforcement.

The role includes leadership responsibilities, budget oversight, coordination of development projects, and participation in leadership meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, geography, architecture, or closely related field (Master’s preferred).
• AICP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the Community Development Department.
• Coordinates planning, zoning, building, and code enforcement activities.
• Assists in planning and zoning activities; provides staff support to Planning Commission and City Council.
• Prepares and reviews technical reports, studies and land use cases.
• Develops short- and long-range departmental plans and budgets.
• Serves on Leadership Team and represents the City at meetings.
