Tacoma Public Schools is seeking an assistant coach to instruct middle school athletes in fundamentals, strategy and physical training for the season running from November 4, 2026 to January 7, 2027. Expected start date is October 2026 and compensation is $16.66 per hour.

The coach will supervise student athletes, plan age-appropriate practices four days a week for 7th and 8th graders and two days for 6th graders, maintain equipment records, and ensure safety and compliance with WIAA, district

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of assistant coach experience.
• First Aid and CPR certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student athletes to promote learning.
• Plan and implement sport-specific practices to develop skills.
• Organize after-school practices for 7th and 8th grade teams; two days for 6th grade.
• Maintain equipment records and safety checks; ensure proper use.
