Job summary

New York Technology Partners is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee daily machining operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Buffalo, NY. You will lead shop personnel, coordinate production activities, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining operations, tooling, setups, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Experience managing schedules, workflow, and employee performance.
• Solid problem-solving and decision‑making skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support machinists, CNC operators, and shop personnel on a daily basis.
• Coordinate workflow and production schedules to meet customer and business requirements.
• Monitor productivity, quality, scrap, and downtime while driving continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist with machine setups, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.
• Review work orders, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate production.
• Train, coach, and develop employees while conducting performance evaluations.
• Work closely with engineering, quality, maintenance, and production planning teams.
• Maintain staffing levels and allocate resources to meet production goals.
• Track and communicate key performance metrics.
