Job summary

SilencerCo is seeking a Production Machinist in Riverton, UT, with a week-night shift (4:00 pm - 2:30 am, Mon-Thu). The role supports mills, EDMs, lathes, and Swiss machines, performing skill verification, teaching problem-solving methods, and collaborating with the programming group for mistake-proofing and manufacturing optimization.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• 3 years of machining experience, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Create standard work procedures and update processes and procedures as problems are identified and eliminated.
• Maintain operator level 3 skill status on all production CNC's.
• Ability to troubleshoot NC code on all production machines.
• Proof new programs, fixtures and setups before handoff to normal production.
• Provide programming suggestions to improve stability, delivery, tool path alignment, etc.
• Manage production responsible TPM intervals to ensure we don't observe breakdowns, long cycle times, rework, etc.
• Comply with safe work practices; understanding work injury procedures, workers comp, and OSHA standards.
• Solves tooling issues by identifying productivity of tooling, evaluating tooling performance, and evaluating new tooling requirements.
• Understand key SPC principles such as Cp, Cpk and work to maintain a process capable environment for operators.
• Responsible for any potential rework strategies that may be deployed.
• Ability to collect accurate process metrics through new product introduction and process improvements.
• Schedule flexibility as needed.
