Job summary

FTI is hiring CNC Machinists in Tukwila, WA for the 1st shift on-site. You will set up, operate, and maintain CNC lathe machines to produce precision aerospace components, with in-process inspections and documentation to meet quality standards.

Experienced machinists will mentor juniors and potentially progress to all site-specific CNC and conventional machines, tooling design, and continuous improvement initiatives, in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 1 to 6+ years CNC lathe experience or equivalent
• Manufacturing environment experience preferred
• Solid understanding of shop math
• Familiarity with computer functions and ERP systems
• Ability to read and write in English, including blueprints and technical documents
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machine equipment to meet production rate and quality standards.
• Load and unload materials and parts from machines.
• Perform routine machine upkeep and maintain coolant, oil, and lube levels.
• Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
• Monitor machine and cutting conditions; report issues to supervisor.
• Deburr and edge-break parts as needed.
• Set up machines with fixtures, tools and programs; adjust offsets.
• Operate multiple machines and apply SPC techniques.
• Perform basic CNC program operations and edit G Code as needed.
• Design and set up tooling and part layouts.
• Train and mentor other machinists.
• Follow safety policies and 6S practices.
