Job summary

Astronics PECO in Clackamas, Oregon, is seeking a Senior CNC Operator to lead the CNC department and mentor the team on the day shift, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday. The role supports quality control and continuous improvement in a high-precision aerospace environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years of related experience, and familiarity with Mastercam CAM programming; forklift and overhead hoist licenses are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Mastercam or CAM programming desired.
• Ability to obtain forklift license.
• Ability to obtain overhead hoist license.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions; basic math; triginalry desired.

Responsibilities

• Trains and mentors CNC-Operators in all duties and responsibilities.
• Assign daily tasks and priorities to the CNC machining team provided by the Production Supervisor.
• Performs basic shop math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; converts fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
• Studies blueprints, manuals, specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements; interprets GD&T callouts.
• Able to create basic machine fixturing and perform setups (Vise, 5 Axis, Tooling).
• Loads programs and follows procedures for revision control; inspects tooling and selects proper tooling.
• Performs measurement using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other gauges.
• Follows G/M code commands and makes machine adjustments; troubleshoots machining issues.
• Starts, observes, and maintains machine operation; ensures parts meet specifications.
