Job summary

Amphenol CIT is seeking a highly skilled Class “A” Machinist/Programmer/Lead for our Allen, TX facility. The role requires CAD/CAM experience, setting up CNC mills and lathes, reading complex blueprints, and mentoring junior machinists. This second-shift position offers strong overtime potential and room for leadership growth.

You will work with multi-axis machines, ensure tight tolerances, and drive continuous improvement in a climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 2 years’ experience with Esprit or other CAM Software.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a machinist, with at least 2 years setting up CNC lathes or mills.
• Excellent Leadership qualities.
• Strong knowledge of manual machining and CNC operations (including G and M code understanding).
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
• Ability to interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, or other quality standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines including lathes, mills, grinders, and other shop equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Measure, examine, and test completed parts for conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMs.
• Perform layout work and make complex machine setups with minimal supervision.
• Adjust machining processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Maintain tools, machines, and work area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and work with engineering to resolve design or tooling challenges.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
• Train and mentor junior machinists as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and production records.
