Job summary

Amphenol Fiber Systems International seeks a skilled Class A Machinist in Allen, TX. The role requires setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, reading blueprints, and maintaining tight tolerances with precision gauges.

Climate-controlled facility with modern DMG Mor i equipment and potential overtime opportunities. The ideal candidate brings extensive setup experience on multi turret/spindle lathes with live tooling, knowledge of GD&T, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• 5+ years as machinist with at least 2+ years at Class B level.
• Setup experience with multi turret/spindle lathes with live tooling.
• Strong knowledge of manual and CNC operations (G-code/M-code).
• Proficient with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and GD&T.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Familiarity with ISO/AS9100 quality standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, shop equipment).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders.
• Measure parts with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMs.
• Perform complex setups with minimal supervision.
• Improve machining processes for efficiency and quality.
• Maintain tools, machines and a clean, safe work area.
• Troubleshoot machining issues with engineering to resolve tooling challenges.
• Follow safety regulations and company policies.
• Train and mentor junior machinists as needed.
• Maintain production records and documentation.
