Job summary

Carr Lane Manufacturing seeks a CNC Machinist on 2nd shift in Elgin, TX. You will set up and operate CNC mills/lathe machines, perform minor programming modifications, conduct quality checks, and participate in maintenance activities as part of a collaborative team.

The role requires reading blueprints, proficiency with measuring tools, and knowledge of cutting tools, with an emphasis on accuracy and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Read production drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Proficiency in basic math and use of a calculator.
• Experience operating CNC equipment in a production facility; mill and/or lathe machines.
• Knowledge of cutting tools (drills, end mills, inserts for lathes, taps).
• Knowledge of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, small hole gauges).
• Technical degree in area of specialty or 2-4 years of experience in the field or related area.
• Must be capable of reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines to run parts per print.
• Perform in-process inspection to ensure quality.
• Monitor machines for productivity and schedule adherence.
• Troubleshoot problems during machine operation.
• Complete regular and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Maintain and clean machines before or after each shift.
