Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a CNAs to assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, developing, and directing day-to-day nursing department functions under federal, state, local standards, guidelines, and facility policies. The role involves direct resident care by CNAs to uphold the highest quality care at all times.

Qualifications

• Must have current CNA certification.
• Must possess CPR Certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Demonstrate interest and/or knowledge in therapy, rehabilitation, restorative, ADL, splint, and ROM programs.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors, staff, and the public.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and be personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Review the department's Policy & Procedure Manual annually for revisions and advise the Director of Nursing.
• Collaborate with CNAs to ensure compliance with policies and proper dress code.
• Develop a written plan of care for each resident identifying problems/needs.
• Attend and participate in customer care plan conferences.
• Address concerns and implement corrective actions with the Administrator or clinical leadership.
• Assist in interviewing and onboarding to support clinical leadership.
• Provide orientation and mentoring to CNAs and offer coaching as needed.
• Provide feedback on CNA performance during daily and annual evaluations.
• Conduct daily rounds to verify duties and appropriate procedures are followed.
• Maintain a warm, caring atmosphere and calm environment in the department.
• Plan and participate in in-service education and ongoing training.
• Assist with coordinating nursing services with other departments to ensure integrated care.
• Monitor documentation, absenteeism, and staffing to ensure adequate coverage.
• Assist with equipment and supply planning and budgeting as needed.
• Support with scheduling appointments and transportation as required.
• Ensure care plans are used in daily patient care.
• Attend department head, Infection Control, and Quality Improvement meetings.
• Maintain daily oversight of POC documentation compliance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
