Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Public Cloud Foundational Services, Cloud Retail Service Enablement team. You will design, build, and deliver secure, scalable cloud platform solutions across Kubernetes and distributed systems with a focus on safety, reliability, and enterprise compliance.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including CRDs, operators/controllers, reconciliation patterns, admission webhooks, and RBAC.
• Proficiency in Go (Golang), production-grade services, controllers, or platform components.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, including Amazon EKS, IAM, STS, VPC, and workload identity solutions such as IRSA and EKS Pod Identity.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and cloud networking concepts; cross-cluster networking troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and operating highly available, CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own and enhance Kubernetes CRDs and Go-based controllers across clusters and cloud accounts.
• Design admission controls and webhooks to enforce platform standards.
• Develop secure cross-cluster provisioning mechanisms (RBAC, identity federation, IRSA).
• Advance developer-facing platform experiences with Terraform providers and APIs.
• Lead multi-region/multi-cluster deployments and IaC/GitOps automation.
• Promote engineering excellence with scalable design patterns, testing, and ADRs.
• Drive AI-assisted engineering practices with validated outputs and secure coding standards.
• Utilize SDLC tools and automation to improve operational value.
