Job summary

UST is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, secure, and optimize cloud-native infrastructure on AWS. The role focuses on building scalable networking, IaC modules, and container platforms to support modern cloud workloads.

Hybrid role based in Chicago, IL, with responsibilities spanning Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, and observability tools like CloudWatch and OpenTelemetry. Strong emphasis on security, FinOps, and platform engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud infrastructure in AWS and healthcare/regulatory environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA/HITRUST controls is desirable.
• Experience with Bedrock and GenAI infrastructure patterns is a plus.
• Exposure to Platform Engineering or SRE practices is helpful.
• Familiarity with policy-as-code, infrastructure governance, and security automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, secure, and optimize cloud-native infrastructure on AWS.
• Build and maintain networking components including VPCs, subnets, Route Tables, security groups, and NAT gateways.
• Implement IaC and reusable infrastructure modules using Terraform, CDK, and CloudFormation.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, and lifecycle processes.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads with Kubernetes, EKS, ECS/Fargate, and Docker.
