Job summary

Hightower Advisors in Chicago seeks a Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering to lead strategy, architecture, and operations of Hightower's cloud platforms. You will partner with Infrastructure, Security, Application Development, Data, and Business teams to drive modern cloud initiatives and scalable enterprise solutions.

You will guide a team of cloud engineers, establish governance, and drive automation with IaC and CI/CD while advancing secure, resilient cloud services across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of infrastructure or cloud engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Deep expertise with AWS.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or similar IaC tools.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong cloud security, governance, and identity management expertise.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure, primarily within Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Define and execute cloud strategy, roadmaps, and architectural standards.
• Manage and mentor cloud engineers while fostering a culture of innovation.
• Establish cloud governance, security controls, and compliance standards.
• Drive automation through Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices.
• Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
