Job description

Job Summary: Rackspace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Engineer. We are currently migrating a new customer into a multicloud environment. This is a greenfield project where you will serve as the technical expert in cloud infrastructure support, overseeing network architecture, information security, IT system administration, tools, and DevOps processes.

Work Location: US Remote

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate technical, peripheral, and management aspects of cloud infrastructure and DevOps requirements.
• Identify and resolve product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with customer engineering teams on various projects.
• Implement automation and DevOps best practices for CI/CD, IaC, containerization, etc.
• Perform Linux/Windows administration, automated deployments, and scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Python).
• Work with Rackspace teams and customer stakeholders to deliver projects, including cloud architecture implementation, migrations, and application optimization.
• Serve as a technical advisor and troubleshoot technical challenges for customers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field required; master’s preferred. Additional experience may substitute for education at a rate of 3 years of experience for 1 year of education.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
• 7+ years of technical support experience.
• Expertise in AWS and Azure; familiarity with GCP.
• Experience in project environments, working with vendors or as a consultant.
• Experience with cloud migrations from on-premises to cloud.
• Administration experience with Windows and Linux servers.
• Experience with cloud monitoring tools such as ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD deployments, and Kubernetes.

• Colorado: $116,100 - $170,280
• Hawaii and New York (excluding NYC): $123,600 - $181,280
• California, NYC, Washington: $135,300 - $198,440

Compensation may include variable pay such as bonuses or commissions, based on performance and other factors.
