Job description

Job Summary: Rackspace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Engineer. We’re currently migrating a new customer into a multicloud environment. This is a greenfield project where you’ll be the technical expert in cloud Infrastructure Support, overseeing network architecture, information security, IT system administration, tools, and DevOps processes.

Work Location: US Remote

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and coordinate the technical, peripheral, and management aspects of our cloud infrastructure and DevOps requirements.
  2. Identify and resolve product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks.
  3. Collaborate with customers' engineering teams on various projects.
  4. Implement automation and DevOps best practices for CI/CD, IaC, containerization, etc.
  5. Perform Linux/Windows administration, automated deployments, scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Python).
  6. Work with Rackspace team members and customer stakeholders to deliver projects like cloud architecture implementation, migrations, and application optimization.
  7. Serve as a technical advisor and troubleshoot technical challenges for customers.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field required; master’s degree preferred. Additional experience may substitute for education at a rate of 3 years of experience for 1 year of education.
  2. AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
  3. 7+ years of technical support experience.
  4. Expert knowledge of AWS and Azure; familiarity with GCP.
  5. Experience in project environments, including vendor or consulting roles.
  6. Experience with cloud migrations from on-premises to cloud.
  7. Administration experience with Windows and Linux servers.
  8. Experience with cloud monitoring tools such as ServiceNow.
  9. Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD deployments, and Kubernetes.

Pay Transparency Legislation:

The anticipated starting pay ranges vary by state, e.g., Colorado: $116,100 - $170,280; Hawaii and New York (excluding NYC): $123,600 - $181,280; California, NYC, and Washington: $135,300 - $198,440. Compensation may include variable bonuses or discretionary payments based on performance, skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
