Job summary

MISUMI Americas is seeking a Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer to own our AWS infrastructure across multi-regional platforms. You will be hands-on with CloudFormation and Node.js daily, lead end-to-end infrastructure projects, and mentor a small team while partnering with security and product teams to keep systems reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-efficient as we grow.

This onsite Oakland role requires being based in the Bay Area, and you will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on production experience writing Node.js code — building services, automation, or internal tools, not just deploying Node.js applications.
• Expert‑level, hands‑on AWS experience across EC2, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, CodeBuild, and Elastic Beanstalk
• Extensive, real‑world CloudFormation experience: authoring and maintaining complex templates, managing stacks across multiple environments, and handling updates, rollbacks, drift detection, and full stack lifecycle management
• Strong track record designing and operating CI/CD pipelines
• Hands‑on experience debugging systems and applications in production
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
• Solid grasp of AWS security best practices — IAM, networking, encryption, least‑privilege access
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

MISUMI Americas builds the digital infrastructure behind how the world's hardware gets designed and manufactured. We're looking for a Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer to take ownership of the AWS infrastructure that runs our multi-regional, global platform — someone who wants to be hands‑on with CloudFormation and Node.js every day, not just architecting on a whiteboard.

This is a builder's role. You'll lead infrastructure projects end to end — architecture, implementation, debugging, optimization — while writing the Node.js tools and services that keep deployment, monitoring, and platform operations running smoothly. You'll work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to keep our systems reliable, secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient as we grow.

This position is based in Oakland, CA. Candidates must be located in Oakland or the greater Bay Area and able to work onsite as required.

What You'll Own

Location & Authorization

• Based in Oakland, CA / greater Bay Area, with the ability to work onsite as required
• U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder)

Experience
