Job summary

Huntington National Bank is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to design and implement cloud-native data ingestion, processing, and enterprise data platform solutions. You will work on batch, streaming, and event-driven architectures, serving as a senior technical contributor.

The role emphasizes scalable, secure, and resilient systems, with mentoring responsibilities for junior engineers and collaboration across teams. Office/work-from-home flexibility is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years in software/platform/cloud engineering.
• Experience with Java and/or Python for enterprise apps.
• Experience building data platforms for high-volume batch/streaming workloads.
• Experience designing distributed systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and support enterprise applications and platform services.
• Evaluate architectures and recommend technologies based on business needs and cost.
• Develop cloud-native solutions using APIs, event-driven patterns, and distributed systems principles.
• Provide technical leadership during design reviews and implementations.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Mentor engineers and guide projects as a technical lead.
