Job summary

Huntington National Bank is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer in Charlotte, NC to design, develop, and support cloud-native data ingestion, processing, and enterprise data platforms using batch and streaming architectures.

You will serve as a senior technical contributor, evaluating and implementing scalable, secure solutions while mentoring engineers and guiding project teams. This role emphasizes architecture, cloud services, and delivery of high-impact initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years software/cloud/Platform engineering experience.
• Experience developing enterprise apps with Java and/or Python.
• Experience building enterprise data platforms for batch and streaming workloads.
• Experience designing and supporting distributed systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, develops, and supports enterprise applications and platform services.
• Evaluates architectural approaches and recommends technologies based on requirements, cost, scalability, reliability, and operations.
• Develops cloud-native solutions using APIs, event-driven patterns, and distributed systems principles.
• Provides technical leadership and guidance during design reviews and implementation activities.
• Troubleshoots complex production issues and drives root cause analysis and remediation.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends, cloud technologies, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Mentors less experienced engineers and serves as technical lead on projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
