Job summary

Centinela Hospital Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to lead laboratory operations under CLIA guidelines, ensuring accurate patient results across Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology. Requires ASCP certification (preferred), 5+ years hospital lab experience, a Bachelor's in a science field, and an active CLS license.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification preferred
• Minimum five years hospital laboratory work experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other related CLIA requirements
• Current and valid state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license required

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operation of the section(s)
• Provide consultative services to medical staff as Technical Consultant
• Oversee quality management/assurance programs and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Assess staff competency and complete performance evaluations
• Ensure accuracy of patient results prior to reporting
• Maintain and update section policies and procedures

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology

ASCP certification, or equivalent

Clinical Laboratory Scientist license

5+ years hospital laboratory experience
