Lexington Health is seeking a qualified professional for the Northeast Emergency Department's clinical laboratory section. This role focuses on developing and maintaining a technically proficient lab, meeting peer-review standards, and ensuring proper operation of the section.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of clinical laboratory experience (MLS/MT/MLT) with appropriate ASCP certification; supervision and regulatory awareness are essential to ensure quality and safety in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally recognized accredited college or university.
• 4 Years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory as a MLT, MLS/MT, or clinical laboratory supervisor/manager.
• 4 Years of experience as a MLT or MLS/MT can be substituted for 2 Years of experience as a clinical laboratory supervisor or manager.
• MLT or MLS/MT (ASCP) or registered as a MLT or MLS/MT by a nationally recognized credentialing body.
• Required Training: None

Responsibilities

• Process laboratory specimens related to the department supervised.
• Perform and monitor the performance of test procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques
• Monitor proper handling of proficiency testing.
• Serve as technical resource and key operator; train staff on instrument operation and updates.
• Perform quality assurance activities such as PI/CQI to enhance productivity and turnaround times.
• Review patient and instrument data for accuracy and maintain proper records.
