Job summary

Lexington Health Northeast Emergency Department seeks a Section Supervisor (Day Shift) to develop and maintain a technically proficient clinical laboratory section, ensuring compliance with peer review standards and department operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing quality control, instrument maintenance, staff training, regulatory readiness, and collaboration with pathologists and leadership. Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years supervisory experience required; ASCP eligible/registered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• 4 years of relevant clinical lab supervisor/manager experience.
• ASCP certification or MT/MLS registry.
• Strong supervisory and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and develop a technically proficient laboratory section.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, COLA, OSHA and accreditation standards.
• Monitor quality control and preventive maintenance programs.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on procedures and instrument use.
• Collaborate with pathologists, Medical Director, and leadership.
• Manage documentation, equipment inventory, and back-up coverage.
