Job summary

Visionworks in Tucker, GA seeks a Lead Clinical Assistant to enhance patient experience by preparing patients for examinations (remote and onsite), completing pre-exam tests, and guiding patients through the initial steps of their journey with our optometrists.

The role also leads hiring, onboarding and development of clinical staff, conducts peer and chart reviews, coaches teams on standards of care, and travels to stores to train and improve patient flow.

Qualifications

• Two year of related experience required.
• Medical Office/business professionalism required.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor with patient care and eye examinations.
• Explain preliminary testing process to patients and document results in EMR.
• Transition patients to a retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books per company policy.
• Preauthorize insurance according to SOPs.
• Maintain patient flow and complete patient readiness tasks.
• Answer clinical questions and triage ocular emergencies.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and handling.
• Place diagnostic contact lens orders and stock.
• Maintain equipment and inventory in pretesting and exam areas.
