Job summary

Qualus Corporation in Reno, NV seeks a Lead Civil Structural Engineer to design mat and pier foundations for substation structures and to develop steel support systems and overhead towers. Candidates should have an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation; PE preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required.
• 6+ years of civil structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects.
• Collaborate with renewable energy clients for schedules and cost estimates.
• Design foundations using LPILE and other software.
• Develop steel models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
• Perform QA/QC processes.
• Maintain relationships with external partners; present information to clients.
• Attend client meetings and site visits to gather or deliver design data.
• Mentor junior staff on technical and project management skills.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
