Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Lake Charles, LA, seeks a Lead Field Engineer (Siteworks) to provide technical direction and field support for ground improvement, earthworks, roads and stormwater drainage on the LNG project.

The role involves coordinating with Bechtel and subcontractors, developing installation work packages, reviewing drawings, tracking field quantities, and ensuring compliance with latest design revisions and quality plans. On-site leadership and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (or international equivalent) required.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience; 12–14 years acceptable if appropriate.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams and motivate personnel.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Field inspections on active construction sites with walking and exposure.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and initiate documentation for all discipline installations.
• Provide support to field supervision for manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements.
• Develop installation work packages and interface with construction schedules.
• Prepare short- and long-term schedules; coordinate with superintendents and other field engineers.
• Execute field material takeoffs from IFC drawings and track quantities.
• Prepare field material requisitions and monitor purchase orders and deliveries.
• Assist field procurement with inspections and maintenance reporting.
• Troubleshoot design issues with engineering and fabricators using field documentation.
