Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil Engineer, PE to join our team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. You will lead planning, design, and construction‑phase services for municipal water and wastewater projects, coordinating with clients and internal teams to deliver compliant solutions.

Ideal candidates have a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, a PE license (or ability to obtain within one year), 5+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. Travel up to ~15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• PE license required or ability to obtain within one year.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and designing water and wastewater projects.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and scheduling programs.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 15% or more.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual and detailed engineering design for municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Prepare engineering reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and documentation.
• Follow standard engineering practices and ensure documentation across deliverables.
• Interpret specs and drawings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to RFI.
• Provide resident engineer support during construction to ensure conformance with contract documents.
• Support client communication and coordination throughout project execution.
