Job summary

Thomas Young Group is seeking a Civil Engineer / Land Development Project Manager in Charlotte to lead complex land development projects from planning through construction. You will direct site design, grading, stormwater, utilities, and roadway layouts while coordinating with clients and authorities.

You will prepare plans, reports, and specifications, manage schedules and budgets, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development and client relationships in a fast-growing regional

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of civil engineering experience.
• PE license in North Carolina or ability to obtain within three months.
• Strong background in land development and site/civil design.
• Experience with grading, stormwater management, utilities, and roadway design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem solving skills.
• Business development experience and existing client relationships are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leading land development projects from planning and design through to execution and delivery
• Managing site design including grading, stormwater, utilities, roadway, and parking layouts
• Preparing detailed plans, reports, technical specifications, and construction documents
• Overseeing project schedules, budgets, and quality control processes
• Coordinating with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
• Supporting construction phase services and ensuring compliance with local codes and standards
• Mentoring junior engineers and helping support team development
• Assisting with client relationships, business development, and project proposals
