Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services, is seeking a Human Services Program Consultant II (S) to participate as a reviewer in formal local Children’s Services program reviews across all counties.

The role analyzes outcome data, staffing and caseload patterns, applies current law and policy, and provides actionable feedback to counties and state staff to improve child welfare outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a discipline related to the program and three years of related experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the program and five years of related experience, or
• an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead 75% of Child Welfare qualitative case reviews for all 100 counties to ensure compliance with state law and policy.
• Interpret and apply state policy, interview staff, review records, and provide feedback for improvement.
• Support continuous quality improvement and participate in technical assistance for counties.
