Job summary

The State of Utah, Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) in Salt Lake City, seeks a Lead Worker (Caseworker Specialist I) to assess needs of children, youth and families and to mentor team members. You will help develop service plans, document cases, and support safety, well-being, and permanency goals.

Role includes 24-hour on-call duties and potential supervisory responsibilities when the supervisor is unavailable. A valid Utah driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Utah driver's license required.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management and manage a diversified workload.
• Strong knowledge of SAFE, community resources, and child welfare laws/guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Mentorship and coaching of team members coordinating services with courts, partners, and providers.
• Case management of CPS, ongoing and home-based cases with detailed documentation.
• Supervisory support and occasional input on evaluations and actions.
• On-call duties as needed under supervisor direction.
