Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human growth and development, education, psychology, or related field.
• Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship under supervision.
• Child Life Specialist Credential required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, implement and evaluate Child Life services for Elliot Health System.
• Orient, train and supervise new Child Life program staff.
• Collaborate with hiring manager and recruiter to identify candidates and conduct interviews.
• Mentor staff with ongoing feedback and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate internships and supervise student shadows.
• Develop and oversee new programming aligning with ACLP standards.
• Lead volunteer program and community outreach for donations and partnerships.
• Ensure policy adherence and effective communication across departments.
• Provide direct patient care as a Child Life Specialist.
• Prepare families for hospitalization and explain procedures.
